Are You Scared Yet?
The Role of Fear in Growth and Expansion

LAST UPDATED IN APRIL 2023

Have you ever felt scared of making a big change in your life? Maybe you’ve considered a career change or moving to a new city, but the fear of the unknown has held you back. It’s natural to feel scared when we step outside our comfort zone, but many people believe that if they are on the right path, they should feel happy all the time and never feel scared. This is simply not true.

Expansion And Growth Feel Scary

Have you considered that expansion and growth feel scary?

Expansion and growth require us to step outside of our comfort zone and face the unknown. It’s natural to feel scared during this process. In fact, if we aren’t feeling scared most of the time, we aren’t growing.

When we engage with what is important to us, we invite emotions to rise, including fear. It’s important to be courageous enough to feel fear and keep going, even when it’s uncomfortable

Feeling Fear Is Essential To Living A Human Experience

If we aren’t afraid most of the time, we aren’t growing.

Some believe that if you’re on your path, and you’re doing it right, then you should feel happy ALL the time, and never feel scared. On the contrary! This is not what having a human experience is about.

If we are on track, we are inviting fear – because we are stepping outside our comfort zone. We often try to cut ourselves off from feeling these emotions, but feeling is what it means to be human.

Living a human experience means being open and ready to experience it all, even the uncomfortable emotions like fear.

Growth Only Happens Outside Your Comfort Zone

When we stay within our comfort zone, we limit our potential for growth and expansion.

Growth, by definition, means we are constantly expanding beyond our comfort zone.

It’s important to recognize that feeling scared is a natural part of this process. We can’t grow and expand if we stay within our comfort zone and never take risks.

When we engage with what is important to us, we invite emotions to rise, including fear.

How To Be Courageous Enough To Push Through Fear

It can be scary to confront our fears, but it’s essential to living a full and meaningful life. When we are engaged with what is really important to us, we’re inviting emotions to rise.

It’s then that we need to be courageous enough to FEEL fear and keep going! The natural response is to cut ourselves off from feeling, however we feel.

‘Feeling’, though, is what it means to be a human being! It’s a RIDE! – being human, being open, and being ALIVE means being ready to experience it all.

And when we expand beyond our comfort zone – the natural experience is FEAR! This doesn’t make you weak, it makes you HUMAN!

To be courageous enough to push through fear, we need to recognize that feeling scared is a natural part of growth and expansion.

We need to be willing to face our fears and take action despite feeling uncomfortable.

In conclusion, feeling scared is a natural part of growth and expansion. It’s important to recognize that we can’t grow and expand if we stay within our comfort zone and never take risks.

We need to be courageous enough to feel fear and keep going, even when it’s uncomfortable.

This means recognizing that feeling scared is a natural part of the human experience and being open and ready to experience all of our emotions.

By pushing through our fears, we can live a full and meaningful life.

So, I ask, “are you scared yet”?
